Say NO to Cruel Cosmetics in Europe!

If you live in the EU, please join us and say NO to Cruel Cosmetics!

Following years of campaigning, we were delighted in 2009 to achieve a ban on cosmetics animal testing in the EU.

However, animals can continue to suffer in the rest of the world in such tests for cosmetics that are imported and sold in the EU. A ‘marketing’ ban, which is due to come into effect in 2013, that will ensure no animal tested cosmetics are sold in the EU, is now in jeopardy. The European Commission is preparing to propose that it should be possible for companies to apply for an exemption (without any time limit). The possible reason for such an exemption could include minor benefits, such as a new product significantly improving the well-being of consumers - which could be argued for any cosmetic product at all!

This could mean many more years during which thousands of rabbits, guinea pigs, mice and rats will be injected, gassed, or force-fed and killed worldwide for cosmetics sold in the EU.

We are continuing to push for a complete ban with no exceptions or delays.

Please help us end this cruelty by signing the petition the No Cruel Cosmetics petition: www.NoCruelCosmetics.org
