We are proud to be a sponsor of the upcoming 13th World Congress on Alternatives and Animal Use in the Life Sciences, taking place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from August 31 to September 4, 2025.

This year marks a significant milestone for the Congress, as it will be held in the Southern Hemisphere for the very first time. This landmark decision enhances opportunities for Latin American countries to actively engage in global conversations on advancing alternatives to animal use in research and testing.

Since its inception in 1993, the World Congress has convened leading scientists, policymakers, and innovators from around the world to promote the 3Rs principles of Replacement, Reduction, and Refinement of animal use in the life sciences.

The 2025 theme, “3Rs Integrating 3 Worlds: Human, Animal and Environmental Health”, underscores the interconnectedness of our health systems and the importance of adopting research methods that are both scientifically sound and ethically responsible.

The program features over 100 symposia, workshops, and lectures, where established experts and emerging voices will share advances in non-animal methodologies, regulatory science, ethical research practices, and educational initiatives.

Our team is honored to contribute to this important dialogue through multiple presentations and networking opportunities, highlighting the role of our science and public policy experts in supporting the global transition toward humane and innovative research practices. The Congress also offers a valuable platform for collaboration and sharing knowledge with fellow professionals who share a commitment to replacing animal use in science.

Our Head of Public Affairs for North America, Monica Engebretson, who will be part of our team in Rio, said, “We look forward to being part of this landmark event and to supporting continued progress toward a future where science is not only effective but also ethical and sustainable. Conferences like these are a fantastic opportunity to promote the use of non-animal methods within the scientific community, and to work with multiple stakeholders to overcome barriers to ending animal experiments worldwide.”
