We’re taking UK Home Office to the High Court
On Wednesday our legal team will be at the High Court in London to fight the UK Home Office. They’ve given the green light to a beagle breeding farm in Yorkshire – without outside access to the dogs.
If the company B&K Universal Ltd gets its way, female beagles will be made to churn out litter after litter of puppies at the farm in East Yorkshire. The puppies will then be separated from their mothers and sent off to be experimented on. Their mothers will likely be kept as ‘breeding machines’ until they no longer ‘serve a purpose’ and are killed.
And while the dogs are incarcerated at the farm, they will never get to see the sky or feel grass under their paws.
Tens of thousands of dogs around the world are imprisoned in laboratories every year. Many are injected with or force-fed substances. They can suffer horrific effects such as vomiting, diarrhoea, internal bleeding, organ damage, seizures, paralysis and even death.
Together, we’ve been campaigning for five long years to stop the expansion of the #YorkshireBeagles farm. And we’re only able to take the Home Office to court thanks to compassionate people like you who have donated so generously.
So please spare a thought for dogs in laboratories this Wednesday, and our legal team who will be fighting on your behalf one last time for the Yorkshire Beagles. We’ll be sure to let you know the outcome in a couple of weeks.
